Children\’s Ministry

Children are of great importance at Grace Lutheran Church. We have a high value to encourage faith development within the home. We try to support, encourage, and empower parents in fostering faith in Jesus within their family.

The variety of children\’s programs includes Sunday school each Sunday at 9:20am (parent\’s are invited to help in the Fireside Room). We have an exciting music program for children that include choir, tone chimes, solo or small group voice coaching. First communion classes are offered for children, when they are ready. To help children foster self-esteem and personal development we offer after school music groups. And children in 4th grade and older are encouraged to help serve at the altar as acolytes, crucifers, cantors, and readers.

Each Sunday children are excused during the sermon time to have the gospel message delivered at their intellectual level. For children under age 4 we have a qualified child care provider during each worship. Children are not only the future of our church life, but also our present.

Sunday School for young Christians is held every Sunday with an opening in the sanctuary at 9:20.

Cherub Choir: Tuesdays, 2:30pm in the choir room.  Ages 5-8 are invited to learn traditional children\’s songs for praise and worship in this fun class.

Wonders of Worship: Tuesdays, 3:30pm in the choir room.  Choir and youth praise band for kids through middle school age. Children\’s Music Director Colin Tidwell makes singing and/or band practice fun!

Confirmation: Wednesdays at 3pm. Youth explore the Christian faith in this lively class run by the Youth & Family Director Lisa Skelley and Pastor Jim.

Afterschool Care – Monday through Thursday, after school until 5:00pm in the Fireside Room.  All students are welcome to read, write, study and just hang out.  Computers with Internet and basic school supplies are available for use.

Summer Vacation Bible Camp: A week long camp for children age 4 through 5th grades is conducted each summer, with a different theme each year. Both neighbors and members\’ children are welcome, and parents are invited to assist to make this a wondrous time for young minds and hearts!  See our HOME PAGE for other fun summer camps.
